Don’t be afraid to ask!
Below, you should find answers to some of the most common questions, but if you don’t find what you’re looking for, then please contact us.
Am I fit enough to take part?
Whether it’s your first time at a bootcamp, you’re taking on the challenge of a 10k road race or you’ve been roped in to taking on the ultimate in mud run/obstacle events…then fear not, you are in safe hands! The exercises, courses, venues and nature of the events are designed to be a fitness challenge yet inclusive for a variety of levels of experience and ability. Bootcamp and outdoor fitness sessions are tailored to suit all levels of ability with options and alternatives to ensure everyone gets a good workout. An average level of fitness is required to complete the mud run events course, although there is no pressure to run continuously or be under any time restraint but remember what you signed up to! it’s an option of 10 or 16km of off-road obstacle and mud challenges! If entering a 10k road run event then you will need an understanding of the distance and what it takes to mentally and physically prepare for this type of challenge/event and adhere to competition rules as set out by UK Athletics licensing. Remember we are here to help so don’t hesitate to contact us for information on training and preparation for events.
As with any exercise, you may wish to consult your doctor before you commit to enter
Will there be medical assistance?
Your safety is our priority. All our staff are First Aid at work trained and certified. At events as well as marshals situated around the course, there will be specialist event first aid cover. You must notify us in advance if you have any injury or condition that might affect your taking part.
Can anyone compete?
Please see specific events and products or contact us for more details of age restrictions.
What should I wear?
What ever the event is you have entered or wishing to take part in, dressing appropriately is important! Definitely something you don’t mind getting wet, muddy and a little ruined for the UK Mud Run…or why not fancy dress!! Normal gym clothing is fine for other fitness events, dress appropriately for the weather.
Can I run the course beforehand?
For road 10k events we advertise the maps of the course ahead of the event. However please note that roads will only be closed and access permitted to certain areas around some courses during our event. It might not be suitable, appropriate or safe to complete the full distance of the courses before the event and we can not take responsibility for you out on our routes/courses before or after the event times. The UK Mud Run course and obstacles are designed to be a surprise! There is no access available before the start of the event.
Are there chip timings for each runner?
For 10k road events we have Professional chip timing services meaning you will be able to see and compare your results on the day as well as on-line after the event. Prizes will be awarded on the day for winners of all age categories plus a few spot prizes handed out along the way. For the UK Mud Run there is no official timing, completing the course will be the biggest reward…although there’s no harm in a friendly race to the line!
